Expedited Apostille Services and Consulate Legalization If you’re moving to another country, buying a property abroad, attending a foreign university, getting married in an exotic foreign location, doing business with a foreign office or if you would like to obtain dual citizenship, you may be required to apostille or legalize your USA documents to be valid abroad. An apostille is one very common form of authentication and it’s accepted between countries that belong to the Hague Apostille Convention. An apostille is issued by the Secretary of State. Legalization is another form of authentication and is accepted between countries that do NOT belong to the Hague Convention. This involves obtaining the Great Seal of the State from the Secretary of State, then legalization by the foreign country’s consulate or embassy. The process can be frustrating depending on your situation, and we assist you with the proper process so you can submit your documents overseas correctly. Overview After you have your notarized documents in hand and are ready to begin the apostille and/or legalization authentication process, you can choose to have your documents hand-delivered to various NYC government offices to obtain seals. We service the following venues in NYC for the authentication of documents: · County Clerks of NYC (Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn only) · NY Secretary of State (for apostilles and the great seal of the state) · All Consulates located in NYC
NYC Courier Service Includes · Reviewing documents for accuracy. · Obtaining all seals by County Clerks, NY Secretary of State, and/or any foreign Consulate located in NYC. · Hand delivery and pick up of all documents. *Our courier service is limited to within the boundaries of Manhattan; however we also service the county clerks of Brooklyn and the Bronx. All documents are given same (if possible) or next day treatment. Documents are hand delivered to all NYC offices. All information contained in the documents are treated as CONFIDENTIAL.
Legal-Eaze Fees for NYC Courier Service* · County Clerk — 1 document, $100; each document thereafter is an additional $50/document. · Secretary of State — 1 document, $200; each document thereafter is an additional $100/document. · Consulate — 1 document, $400; each document thereafter is an additional $200/document. *additional costs apply, e.g., fees for overnight mail services (you may provide a pre-paid mailer or a credit card or FedEx account number); photocopies ($.50/page).
Instructions Complete the NYC Document Processing Form and mail it to the Legal-Eaze NYC Office. E-mail or call Mr. Chris Moore at (845) 642-2990 before sending the documents so he knows they are coming and can plan to accommodate them. Documents originating from states other than NY must be state-sealed in the originating state before they can be submitted to any Consulate (this includes birth certificates).
Mailing Instructions · Send documents to our New York City Office by overnight mail (preferably FedEx. · All fees can be paid by one check payable to “Legal-Eaze”. Disbursements to government agencies made directly by Legal-Eaze. No need to obtain money orders! · Make sure to include a FedEx account number for use in mailing your documents. · Make your best estimate on fees due. Additional fees owed (if any) will be billed to you upon completion of service. We will not hold up the authentication of your paperwork!
